When Albert Joseph Mauras was born in April 1874 in Avoyelles, Louisiana, his father, Joseph, was 41 and his mother, Julie, was 32. He married Rosa "Rosa lee" Bordelon on June 20, 1893, in his hometown. They had eight children in 22 years. He died in 1917 in Marksville, Louisiana, at the age of 43. My grandfather Milton was 6 years old when his father Albert died.

When Rosa Rosalie Bordelon was born on September 17, 1876, in Marksville, Louisiana, her father, Celestin, was 29, and her mother, Eliska, was 22. She married Albert Joseph Morace on June 20, 1893, in Avoyelles, Louisiana. She remarried after Albert's death to Ludger Mayeux and had two children for him. She died on April 1, 1969, in her hometown at the age of 92, and was buried there.

There wasn't much more information on Albert Joseph as he died pretty young. His grave location in the Marksville cemetery is also a mystery.

US Census of 1910 shows "Ebert" and Rosalie with five children. My grandfather Milton was five years old at the time. His name was Albert, not Ebert, but it is not unusual that the census taker misunderstood the French to English pronunciation.
US Census of 1900 shows the young Mauras couple in their 20s with two children living at home. Here, they show him as just Joseph.
Her son, Mitchell, is buried in the next plot. Social Security shows her name as Rosa Moras.
