When Walter Ones Bordelon was born on January 18, 1892, in Marksville, Louisiana, his father, Ones, was 26 and his mother, Marie, was 19. He married Florence DESSELLES in 1911 in his hometown. They had four children in 25 years. He died on February 23, 1979, in Marksville, Louisiana, at the age of 87 and was buried there. 

Walter and Florence spent the majority of their lives in Marksville, with a brief period of living in New Orleans. 

There is a road named after Walter in the Spring Bayou area –Bordelon Street- where they resided the majority of their life.

Walter and Florence’s original dwelling was sold and moved to some unknown location in Spring Bayou. It is not sure if the house still resides or not. As of 2006, a modern brick home was built in this original location, and there are no traces of anything from the past other than an old stump rotting away in the front right yard. Walter planted this tree when Jimmy Bordelon, his first grandchild, was born.

Ollie BORDELON b: 10 JUL 1912  in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. d. 16 JANUARY 2010 in Kenner, LA. 

Her first marriage was to Alton Bordelon from Marksville, had one son  – Jimmy Bordelon, then divorced soon after. She then moved to New Orleans and married Daniel Marshall (1911-2008) and resided most of their life in Kenner, LA. She never had any more children. 

Daniel passed away on April 18, 2008 and was a very interesting, well-liked, and generous man. He spent his whole life as a merchant seaman until his retirement. Ollie passed away on January 16, 2010, in Kenner, LA.

Jimmy Bordelon, her only son, b. April 12, 1930 d. February 8, 2024 , married Lydia Marie Bozonier b. 14 July 1943, d. 19 Sept 2007. 

Jimmy and Lydia had four children and several grandchildren, most of whom reside in New Orleans and Florida:

Pamela Anne Bordelon Crosby: married to Donald Joseph Crosby have three children and one deceased child, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Children: John Joseph Crosby, Darren Joseph Crosby, Dione Marie Crosby Faucheux married to Shaun Michael Faucheux and Dale Louis Crosby – Liuzza.

Grandchildren: Olivia Brianna Crosby, Seth Louis Liuzza, Chase Michael Faucheux, and Reece Louis Faucheux.

Great Grandchild: Daxton Kash Dupuy

Justin James Bordelon: married to Deborah Trierwiler Bordelon have three children and three grandchildren.

Children: Jay Jacob Bordelon married to Tracey Hall Bordelon
Jesse Jared Bordelon married to Morgan Kates Bordelon
Joshua James Bordelon married to Katherine Logan Bordelon

GrandChildren: Kaysen James Bordelon, Charleigh Claire Bordelon and Jordan Joy Bordelon

Kim Marie Bordelon Patron: married to Manny Antonio Patron have one child and one grandchild.

 Ruby BORDELON b: February 8, 1916 in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. 

Married Winston J Gagnard (1912-2000) and resided the majority of their life in the Spring Bayou- Marksville area. It was widely known that Ruby and Winston were somewhat related, which was not uncommon at the time in Louisiana. I looked into this and they were about 3rd or 4th cousins. Ruby’s grandfather, Benjamin Desselles, and Winston’s grandfather, Lucien Desselles, were brothers.

They had three children: 

Patricia (“T-Pat”) Lachney

Irving Gagnard 

Ruby passed away on 9 NOVEMBER 2005, in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana

George Paul BORDELON b: JUN 14, 1923, in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, married Donnelly Melancon (1926-2018) and resided the majority of their life in New Orleans and Metairie, LA area.

They had two children: 

Donald Bordelon

Georgianna B. Tinnerella 

George passed away on March 5, 2003.

CHARLES A BORDELON b: 6 JUL 1937 in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana

He married Laura Dean Morris (Marus) and resided the majority of their life in Mansura and the “Longbridge” area.

They had four children: Karen, Stephanie, Alreen, and  Chad.
