Antoine Louis Morasse was the first Moras in my family, born in Louisiana at New Roads, Louisiana, better known at the time as Pointe Coupee, Louisiana. Every Moras in my tree before him was born in Quebec, Canada, or France.
When Antoine Louis Morasse II was born on July 10, 1797, in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana, his father, Antoine, was 23 and his mother, Suzanne, was 17. He married Helena Roy on December 9, 1826 and they had six children together. He died in 1845 in Avoyelles, Louisiana, at the age of 48.
